Check back in the Fall 2025 for the next open callThe Sierra Journal accepts submissions of unpublished work, including one-act plays, fiction or creative non-fiction prose (1,500 words or less), poetry (4-6 poems max), and excerpts of graphic novels. Entries are accepted from both current and former Sierra College students, employees, and the community. Work is juried by students and faculty in English 22, under the guidance of Professor Chris Hall.
Work will be juried by students and faculty in Engl 22. If selected, the author agrees to have their work published in the Sierra Journal both in print and online. Artists' work may also be used for promotional materials (social media, advertisements, inclusion on the SJ website, etc).
